Content management on Grails - step by step

We are pleased to announce release 0.2 of content manager, a content mangement solution for the Grails framework. Although still incomplete, this release provides considerable improvement on the first alpha release as follows:

  • Zero configuration startup - just install and run!
  • General improvements and bug fixes on most pages
  • Provides complete workflow for registration of users (inc email confirmation)
  • Provides complete user and role management
  • Supports registration of users with email verification
  • RSS feeds are supported for both blog and content
  • Provides reset and change password functions
  • Granular permissioning that can be applied for both read and edit access to content groups
  • Support both XWIKI and HTML content pages via the new XWIKI plugin

As a sidenote, Grails has provided a great foundation for this plugin, and has certainly made its development cycle considerably shorter. Grails has a fabulous plugin ecosystem, and our plugin builds on that by combining existing best of breed solutions and therefore avoids reinventing the wheel.

I'ld be really glad to hear from anyone who wishes to take part in ongoing development of content manager, and will be happy to take a couple of hours to show you around the plugin. Just use the contact us link above (or use the grails mail group).
