As a sidenote, Grails has provided a great foundation for this plugin, and has certainly made its development cycle considerably shorter. Grails has a fabulous plugin ecosystem, and our plugin builds on that by combining existing best of breed solutions and therefore avoids reinventing the wheel.
I'ld be really glad to hear from anyone who wishes to take part in ongoing development of content manager, and will be happy to take a couple of hours to show you around the plugin. Just use the contact us link above (or use the grails mail group).
